Primitive Way from Oviedo to A Fonsagrada

The Camino Primitivo (Primitive Way) is the most ancient pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago. It goes back to the 9th century, when King Alfonso II began the pilgrimage from Oviedo.

This route is known for its impressive landscapes, the beauty of its surrounding and the tranquility it offers, being one of the less traveled routes on the Camino. 

This package offers the possibility of traveling almost 160 km from Oviedo to A Fonsagrada.

What is included?

You can see a summary of the services included in the package


  • Accommodation in hotels/guesthouses on the Camino: 
  • 5 nights on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner).
  • 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis in: Oviedo, Grado and A Fonsagrada.
  • Transfer from the end of each stage to the accommodation and back (when necessary).
  • Luggage transfer during the stages. 1 luggage of 15 kg max. per person.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Oviedo at your own.  Hotel accommodation in Oviedo.

Day 2: Stage 1 “OVIEDO – GRADO” (approx. 25 km)

After breakfast, start of the pilgrimage from the Cathedral of San Salvador in Oviedo to Grado.  Hotel accommodation.

Day 3: Stage 2 “GRADO – SALAS” (approx. 22 km)

Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage to Salas. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 4: Stage 3 “SALAS – TINEO” (approx. 19.80 km)

Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage to Tineo. Dinner and accommodation in a pension/hotel.

Day 5: Stage 4 "TINEO - POLA DE ALLANDE” (approx. 26 km)

Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage Pola de Allande. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 6: Stage 5 “POLA DE ALLANDE – BERDUCEDO” (approx. 17.50 km

Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage on foot to Berducedo. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel/rural house.

Day 7: Stage 6 “BERDUCEDO - GRANDAS DE SALIME” (approx. 20.4 km)

Breakfast and continuation of the pilgrimage to Grandas de Salime. Dinner and accommodation in hotel.

Day 8: Stage 7 “ GRANDAS DE SALIME - TO FONSAGRADA (approx. 25.20 Km) 

Breakfast end the last stage of pilgrimage to A Fonsagrada. Accommodation in a charming hotel/pension.

Day 9: Breakfast and end of our services.

Useful information

Accommodations' double rooms is not guaranteed to have two beds. 

Reservation requests must be made at least 14 days before the start of the pilgrimage.
